Where to Stay in Bali with Kids: Affordable Family Hotel Recommendations!

Planning a Bali family holiday on a budget and not sure where to stay?

You’re not alone!

One of the most common questions I get asked is which hotels offer the best value accommodation for families without being cheap and nasty!

Over the years, we’ve experienced it all - everything from very lavish accommodation to budget-friendly, home-style stays. But these days, we typically stay somewhere in the middle.

By keeping things more affordable, we’re able to stretch our dollar further, take more holidays, and spend more money on activities and dinners out!

As long as the accommodation is clean and in a good area (safe, within walking distance of restaurants and the beach), I’m happy.

If you relate, and you’re on the hunt for something similar, here are some of my top affordable family hotel recommendations in Bali’s most popular areas:

Flying to Bali with kids? Pack a Bali Travel Diary & Activity Book - Includes Bali info, themed activities, video content, space for photos, and journal pages.

Kuta:

Truntum Hotel in Kuta

Legian:

Seminyak:

If you can snag a deal on Luxury Escapes The Courtyard is one of my favourites, as is Montigo and The Trans

Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with:

The Courtyard Marriot - Seminyak

P.S. While I’m a big fan of booking through Tripadvisor or directly with the hotel, the deals on Luxury Escapes are sometimes just too good to pass up.

If you haven’t booked with Luxury Escapes before, we’ve done it plenty of times and love it. Here’s a discount code for $50 off your first booking!

Canggu:

Personally, I don’t love  Canggu, so we haven’t stayed here in years, which means I can’t offer much in the way of hotel recommendations.

That being said, Canggu historically lacks family-friendly resorts (with The Holiday Inn being the only one I know of) and is much more suited to villa living!

If you’ve got your heart set on staying in Canggu, I recommend reaching out to Emily from Bali Family Villas.

Nusa Dua:

Nusa Dua isn’t super budget-friendly, but the best value accommodation we've found (that’s still nice) while we're over this side of the island is Marriott Bali Nusa Dua Gardens.

When we last stayed at the Marriot, we booked a family room for just $230 per night. The lazy river is super fun for kids, too!

Alternatively, try to find a deal on Luxury Escapes

Uluwatu & Jimbaran:

Again, not a super affordable area. If you have your heart set on staying in Jimbaran or Uluwatu, I recommend booking the Mövenpick on a Luxury Escapes deal or choosing the Royal Tulip.

Sanur:

Sagara Villas and Suites - Sanur

 Ubud:

Note:

Green Field Resort and Laba Ubud Villas aren't directly in town, but both of these hotels offer stunning rice field views, which is really what Ubud is all about, right? You could say they offer the best of both worlds.

Plus, Laba Ubud Villa is a steal at just $165 a night for a two-bedroom villa with a pool!

Green Field Resort also offers a free shuttle in and out of town.

Cepik Villas - Sidemen

Candidasa:

Candi Beach Resort and Spa - Candidasa

The Best Way to Book & Finding the Best Price!

As I mentioned earlier, I’m a big fan of booking through Tripadvisor (because you can see the best prices across multiple booking websites and read unbiased reviews) or booking directly with the hotel. However, sometimes, the deals on Luxury Escapes are just too good to pass up!

Shopback:

I also always recommend checking Shopback to see what the cashback offers are, as sometimes when you minus the 'cashback' amount off your total accommodation bill, you end up ahead!

If you’re not yet signed up to Shopback, sign up here and start earning cashback on your purchases. You'll also earn $5 immediately by using this link

Money I've earned through everyday purchases on Shopback since joining!

Not sure what shopback is?

It’s a cashback service that gives you money back on purchases you’re already planning to make. Instead of shopping directly through websites like Booking.com or The Iconic, you simply click through the Shopback website first.

From there, you’ll be redirected to your intended site, where you can shop as usual. Whether it's for travel, or everyday shopping you'll earn a percentage of your purchase back in cash. It's literally free money back in your bank account for doing the shopping you were already going to do!

As you can see, it quite quickly adds up!

Stayed somewhere that's excellent value that I haven’t shared?

Let me know - I’d love to add your recommendations to the list so other families can benefit!

Kindest,
